Color tests - the visual dialogues of my internal studio banter - are returning later this month! Little snapshots of my process + color theory. I’ll be sure to send an email when they’re ready for you.
You can also expect your calendars in November. I’m picking them up on Monday, so look for a shipment confirmation email within the next 2 weeks.
On the home front, we’re starting some renovations (aka no more winters with plastic on our windows! Truly no words to describe our excitement) so we’ll be living in Frankfort for several months. I’m still imagining what our temporary living situation means for my art practice… Smaller pieces? Works on paper? Time will tell. The winter landscapes of Frankfort and Lake Michigan might have some input. When and where inspiration finds me, I’ll let you know. My goal is to have a small collection for December. If you have special requests, leave a comment below!
Bryant Park Mural
Side 2/3 is complete! Although I didn’t anticipate working on this in October, I enjoyed watching the fall colors change alongside my own.

Table Talk (aka the convos I’d be having with you while sitting together, making art.)
Listening: Gather Playlist
Okay, hear me out. Holiday music is wonderful and festive, but Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I really think it deserves to be soaked up with it’s own music before Christmas jams take over. Enter - my ‘Gather’ Spotify playlist. Started in 2018, it’s an oldie but a goodie. Dave gets most the curation credit (more reason to listen) and we just added a new fave this week: ‘Old Love’ by Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers. We’ll slowly add more throughout the season, so stay tuned. The vibe? Jazzy, cozy and upbeat. Meant to accompany cold weather gatherings or stirring risotto with a glass of wine.
In My Cart: This Red Sweater
It’s giving Sally Albright and I might need it. *Bookmarking this for my 2024 Halloween costume.
Watching: Grey’s Anatomy
Speaking of your autumn t.v. queue, my usual go-to’s are the aforementioned WHMS, You’ve Got Mail, Gilmore Girls and Friday Night Lights, but I just started watching Grey’s Anatomy from the beginning. I haven’t watched in almost a decade, and I can’t tell you how much nostalgia it’s bringing me. Why does it feel so perfect for fall? Is it the cozy Seattle rain? The fact that it used to air every fall/back-to-school season? Unsure, but it’s hitting the spot.
Future Surfing: Figure Drawing
I just inherited a vintage daybed and it’s currently living in my studio. I have hopes to host figure drawing classes or drop-in sessions here at some point. If you’re interested in attending or modeling, drop me a line!
Future Surfing II: Creative Business at the Art Table
A couple weeks ago I asked for interest in a local ‘meeting of the minds’ in my studio for those looking to grow and connect in their creative business. I have those emails saved and will send a note soon. If you want to be added to the list let me know.
QTNA (questions that need answers) in the comments:
Do you wait until before or after Thanksgiving to turn on holiday tunes?
Any song suggestions for the playlist?
Fave fall movie/tv show?
Any size/subject requests for my holiday collection?
Alright, that’s all for now. If you have questions or just want to say hello, leave a comment below, it helps me keep topics organized and respond faster! Oh, and all orders over $100 now ship free. Enjoy!
