I believe in winter our bodies naturally tend towards rest, reflection, planning and gathering. This past month I had the honor of hosting a group of local creative business owners in my studio for a mini goal setting and annual planning retreat. Everyone who attended carved out time to invest in themselves and their businesses. Their intentions were so inspiring. Kat Palms joined us halfway through to guide us in face yoga and meditation, and Brianne Farley’s six month old even made an appearance! Since inheriting this art table, I’ve envisioned hosting gatherings such as this. Seeing these dreams realized and seats full warmed my heart.
Plants and animals don’t fight the winter; they don’t pretend it’s not happening and attempt to carry on living the same lives that they lived in the summer. They prepare. They adapt. They perform extraordinary acts of metamorphosis to get them through.”

Charcoal Figure Drawing at The Mill
I’m so excited to be hosting a live *clothed* figure drawing workshop at The Mill and teaching one of my favorite art practices! Meditative and fun, all you have to do is bring yourself, no experience needed. Class includes all supplies and a glass of your choosing to enjoy while you draw. Grab your gal or Valentine and join us. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments. Hope to see you there!
Table Talk (aka the convos I’d be having with you while sitting together, making art.)
Word on the street is Nancy Meyers owns and loves these socks. I think a pair in red would make such a sweet Valentine’s gift.
Speaking of Nancy Meyers, her daughter Annie is currently remodeling her old house and sharing the entire process on her instagram - a great follow if you love NM’s movie sets as much as I do.
Basic Projects, a favorite design team of mine, just completed a stunning residential restoration that was featured in Architectural Digest. I’d already been saving posts from their projects for our own house and was pleasantly surprised to now have access to the full home tour! Kate Towill is the lead designer and I love how she uses an eclectic mix of art in her work.
Continuing my winter theme of gathering, this past weekend I escaped to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my best friends for a bachelorette party + ski weekend. We laughed the entire trip and had an incredible time. It was such a great reminder to always nourish your friendships - there’s nothing like a tribe of women you can always count on in more ways than one.
Alright, that’s all for now. If you have any questions or just want to say hello, liking this post and sharing a comment really help my newsletter! I’m also always available via email.
Thank you for being here,
x
Katherine
Both gatherings of women look so fun! Especially the studio gathering. Yes to nourishing friendships. My friends make my life sing. 💞💞
